We know very little about our patron saint – Saint Sebastian – except that he was a Roman martyr, was venerated in Milan and was buried on the Appian Way, probably near the present Basilica of St. Sebastian. But he did make a tremendous impression on the Church and today his story expresses the faith and courage evident in the lives of early Christian heroes.
It is in this spirit that we encourage people to join us on a novena – nine days of prayer for our parish. From January 12 – 20 (St. Sebastian’s feast day), on Facebook, we will post a short paragraph about St. Sebastian’s life – some of which may be legend, but still interesting. Then we’ll have a brief prayer for our parish. Click here to learn more, download prayers and read reflections.
