Ever wonder why we do what we do at mass? As an initiative from the Prayer and Worship Committees of Saints Sebastian and Catherine, a unique “Teaching Mass” will be held on Saturday, September 15, 4:30 p.m. at St. Catherine.

This mass will be a complete mass celebrating (and “counting for”) the 24th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Fr. Larry Chapman will pause before segments of the mass to offer a few words of explanation. The information may include historical references, liturgical rubrics and theology, scriptural references, documentation from Vatican II and other liturgical sources, and perhaps even personal anecdotes. The “teaching” part of the mass is not intended to be interactive, we ask that questions be held until afterwards.

Expect this mass to be about twice as long as an ordinary Sunday mass due to the added explanations. Persons of all ages will be able to learn more about the central form of our Roman Catholic worship, the Eucharist. If you have any questions, please contact Mike Kamenski at 414-453-1928. All are welcome!!!
