The Facing Racism group came together in Spring 2019 as a response to concerns raised by members of Human Concerns, Faith Formation, and Prayer and Worship committees at both St. Sebastian and St. Catherine about how our parishes are and could be addressing racism.

Our primary goal was to increase awareness of racism among parishioners. We have been doing that by offering various activities and collecting resources that will go on the parish website. With new energy in the movement for racial equity and new members in the group, God may be asking us to expand the group’s scope to include projects to counter the systemic racism in which we all have been brought up.

Our discussion about how to address racism in our communities welcomes new participants. Join us Tuesday July 7 for a virtual meeting. Contact Carole Poth for information, even if you can’t attend the meeting – cpoth@saintsebs.org.

Declare your stand against racism! Download our poster and put it up in your home or business window.
