Parishioners of St. Sebastian and St. Catherine … Let’s mark Indigenous People’s Day, October 12th, with a safe and sacred social action!
Join parishioners and neighbors by meeting at the Hawley/Vliet “Kneel for Nine” at 5:25pm (we take a knee for 9 minutes starting at 5:30 and ending at 5:39). In total this vigil takes about 30 minutes of your evening!
Do you need a sign? Leah Sealey will be ordering yard signs (18×24 with metal stake) from Gietl Signs like the one above, designed by Marlene Vidal.
Cost: Two-sided = $16; One Sided = $10. Order by October 5 to have yours in time for the October 12th event. To order signs, leave a message at 414-774-0836 or email email@example.com. Pick up and payment details for your sign(s) will be given at the time of your order.
You don’t need to bring a sign (or kneel) to participate. Several people stand if they are unable to kneel. As the description below of Kneel for Nine describes, it’s your presence and solidarity that is most important.
We hope you will join us, rain or shine, for this October 12th event sponsored by the St. Sebastian and St. Catherine Facing Racism Group. You are encouraged to “kneel for nine” any day now and in the weeks ahead!
