St. Sebastian is involved in the St. Vincent de Paul Society in several ways.
- Home Visits – We help parishioners and non-parishioners with emergency needs of clothing, food, rent, utilities, appliances, beds and more. Volunteers make home visits based on referrals from parish, assess the family’s social condition and refer to appropriate community agencies if indicated, and provide vouchers for what’s needed. - St. Vincent de Paul Meal Program – This group coordinates all aspects of the preparing and serving a meal at the Vincent Center, located at 2628 N. Martin Luther King Dr. The responsibilities include: shopping for food, calling to remind food donors of their donation, donating food, preparing food, and serving food. - Bundle Sunday – Each year, our St Vincent conference asks parishioners from St Sebastian to donate furniture and other household items to a St Vincent de Paul truck parked on the playground. Click here for a list of acceptable items.
